Cat Saved Hours Left on Death Row Can't Stop Thanking His Rescuer

Image
This beautiful kitten, named 'Henry', was rescued from the pound with hours left to live on death row. A rescuer saved him and this is how he says thank you. "One of our dedicated foster carers (Adelle) rescued this gorgeous boy from the pound," Cat Rescue Newcastle said. "He had a matter of hours before his time was up but we swooped in and did what we do best; saved a life." He was so grateful to be saved that he couldn't stop thanking his rescuer with love and kisses after he was pulled out of the pound. "When I arrived and safely parked at the meeting place for his foster carer I decided to let him roam (in the car) since he had had a very stressful morning and was meowing constantly in his cat carrier," Adelle said. Henry immediately climbed on top of the carrier and went straight up to his rescuer to give her headbumps and kisses. "Just look how grateful he is to be saved. These are the days we live for!...

Couple Pulls Over For ‘Dead’ Dog On Side Of Road

Image
Everyone thought the tiny dog lying on the side of a Georgia road was dead. When Terri Skidmore and her boyfriend, Mike Aziz, drove past that somber scene last July, they saw the driver who hit the dog staring over his seemingly lifeless body. "I kind of assumed the dog was dead," she tells The Dodo. "I couldn't get him out of my head. So I told my boyfriend, 'Let's just turn around and let's see.'" Terri Skidmore When the couple pulled up, the man who had hit the dog was already gone. But an older couple was at the scene. Aziz called out from the car window. "Is he dead?" The couple replied, "He's still breathing." When Skidmore approached the animal, she realized he wasn't just a small dog. "I saw baby teeth," she says. Skidmore tenderly plucked the gravel pits from the puppy, tended to his road rash and made him as comfortable as she could. He was emaciated, infested with para...

Man Rescues Woman from Sinking Car and Goes Back to Save Her Pet

Image
A young man not only saved a woman's life from being drowned in a sinking car, but went back to save her dog's. The torrential rain caused record high flooding in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Three men were in a boat when they came across a woman trapped in a sinking car. As the woman cried for help, one of the men, David Phung, jumped into action and asked for a knife so he could cut the soft top of the convertible open. He then hopped on the car while it was quickly sinking, then reached in the vehicle and pulled the woman out through the top. By then the car was completely submerged into the flooded waters. "Get my dog, get my dog," the woman pleaded frantically. The man tried to feel inside the submerged car, but couldn't find the dog, so he went underwater to reach into the car. Just as people in the boat thought they lost the dog... "I got your dog," he exhorted.  Watch the full rescue in this video:  Phung got the woman ...

20 Year Old Cat is So Happy to Be Given a Home, He Can't Stop Purring

A 20-year-old cat was rescued and given a forever loving home and a much needed bath. He is so happy that he can't stop purring. Meet Oswald the cat! Courtesy: Kitty Adventure Rescue League Oswald ended up in the shelter at the age of 20; that is nearly 100 in human years. "He was surrendered to a shelter without a name or much of a hope," Karyn Poplin of Kitty Adventure Rescue League told Love Meow. Karyn took the kitty out of the shelter and into her cat sanctuary where he would have a place to call home. Despite his age, health and trouble walking, nothing can stop this old man from "exploring and getting in the way in true cat fashion." Normally cats don't like baths, but Oswald was so thankful to be cleaned. Courtesy: Kitty Adventure Rescue League "This guy is a champ. He let me bathe him, and he ate all of the food I put down for him, all he wanted was some chin scritches," Karyn said. "He has the grumpiest ol...

Cat Starts Eating Again When She Has Her Babies By Her Side

Image
A rescue calico cat started eating again when she had her babies by her side. "We got Sophia when she was turned into a local shelter as a stray pregnant cat. We had her about 3 days when she got a horrible upper respiratory infection. She was so congested in her head that she refused to eat," Here Kitty Kitty Rescue told Love Meow. After one week of trying to syringe feed her a high calorie food, it was to no avail. So the veterinarian decided it would be best for her to have a feeding tube to help her eat. "That way we could bypass her congestion and get her and the babies the nutrients they needed." "The tube was placed and Sophia wore a little red sweater to help keep it in place. She was fed through the tube 5-6 times per day. Slowly, her cold began to get better, but she still wouldn't eat even though she was clearly hungry. "Our Doctor hoped once the babies were born she would start eating again." On Tues...
