Tiny Ginger Kitten Found in Woods Without Mom. Now Two Years Later...

They found a tiny ginger kitten alone in the woods without a mom. The next thing they knew, they were on their way home with a new kitty, who had stolen their hearts.

Meet Liza! First day home!

"She was just about 3-4 weeks old when we found her abandoned in the woods alone, no water, no food, no sight of her momma or any siblings," reddit user anck told Love Meow.

"So we brought her home, took her to a vet, she turned out to be completely healthy. Then we did the de-worm and all the shots."

"She might have been thrown away by some people or maybe a stray cat had a litter in the woods but we figure that's unlikely because Liza was all alone."

Liza cuddling with her rescuer.

"She's been a wonderful family member since day one (except when she was teething & destroyed 3 pairs of expensive headphones! No regrets, found the love of my life!"

She falls asleep on her humans' clothes. They know they have done the right thing to adopt her.

It didn't take long for Liza's personality to show. She's a girl ginger full of quirks!

Two years later! Look at her now!

Cat Experiences Feeling in Paralyzed Legs and Can't Believe it

A tiny kitten was found paralyzed in his hindquarters. He was not able to move or feel his back legs when Whisker Stop, a rescue group in Rolla, Missouri took him in. A month later, this kitty surprised everyone with miraculous progress.

Meet Flynt the cat!

"Sweet little Flynt was surrendered to us by a good Samaritan, who knew he needed help," Kym McNulty, president of Whisker Stop told Love Meow. "Flynt, was unable to use his rear legs or tail. He was suspected to have suffered a soft tissue injury, leaving him a paraplegic."

His caregivers saw that fighting spirit in him, and were determined to help him get better.
A few weeks later, the little kitten made incredible improvement.

"With much TLC, exercise, massage and prayer, Flynt has shown signs of regaining use of muscles and feeling in his tail and legs," McNulty said. "These things gave us and Flynt hope for further recovery."

"We have developed a rehab plan of care and there is much hope he can regain use of his back legs!" Little Flynt also received specific foods and supplements to help him strengthen his muscles.

After several weeks of hard work, this happened. Flynt began to feel his hind legs and tail. Watch video:

"His tickle and pain response is good, and the Alpha-Stim electro-therapy treatments will not be needed anymore!

"His nerves are working, so it's just a matter of reteaching his mind to move his muscles properly."

Flynt learning to stand like a champ!

"We are very hopeful that he will gain control of his bladder and bowels, and overcome his incontinence issues," McNulty said.

"His right leg is coming along as it should, while his left leg needs some extra help to create those new memories," April Springer, Flynt's foster mom, said.

Here's Flynt flying across the room in his custom wheelchair.

He is so playful that he just keeps running.

"He got several chiropractic adjustments. No more bicycle exercises, but new massage techniques. We will continue the swim sessions, the stands, and the wheelchair," Springer said.

"(We are) all very hopeful and excited that Flynt has a chance to regain normal mobility," McNulty said.

Cat Can't Find Home Because He's 'Feisty', Waits by Window Every Day

A ginger cat can't find a home because he's a bit "feisty", but this affectionate kitty just wants to be loved. He eagerly awaits a family to call his own.

Meet Simba the cat.

"This handsome boy came to us from a shelter that was closing," Angela Townsend of Tabby's Place told Love Meow.

"Simba doesn't have any physical Special Needs, but he can be rather feisty, which has put off adopters so far... Simba genuinely loves people."

While he has a short fuse and can be distinctly touchy, this ginger tabby is very affectionate and loves attention.

He waits by the window at the shelter every day.

Simba paws on the window, hoping someone would notice him.

Watch the video here:

Their resident cat, Olive the paraplegic kitty, comes over and tries to play with him while he is waiting by the window.

Olive is paralyzed in her back end, presumably due to a birth defect. "She lives in our lobby. She's our most enthusiastic lobby greeter, and always the first to exuberantly welcome visitors to Tabby's Place," Townsend told Love Meow.

"Simba lives in our largest suite, and he and Olive see each other through the Suite B window out onto the lobby."

"Amazingly, neither Olive nor Simba particularly likes other cats...but they've definitely enjoyed playing with each other through the glass!"

Olive comes to give Simba some comfort while he awaits his forever humans.

"Olive is completely unaware that there is anything "wrong" with her -- in fact, she is the unrivaled dominant cat of the 10-15 lobby kitties, and her self-confidence is infinite."

Cat Survives Being Trapped Under Italy Earthquake Rubble for Five Days

After five days, a cat was pulled out from the earthquake rubble by the firefighters and given a chance to reunite with her family.

A miracle cat named Gigia survived the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that devastated parts of Central Italy, causing the deaths of almost 300 people. She was rescued by the firefighters after being trapped under the rubble for five days.

Daniela was in despair when she was not able to return to her home after it was destroyed in an aftershock. She pleaded with the fire department to find her cat.

"Please find her, she's all I have left," she told the firefighters.

They were working with bulldozers to move the rubble and spotted something moving in the wreckage. It was Daniela's cat. She was severely dehydrated but alive.

They quickly gave the cat water to help her re-hydrate.

The ENPA Centre in Amatrice saved 21 animals on Monday. Gigia is one of them. Watch the raw footage of the rescue:

Stray Cat Mama Brings Her Single Kitten to Cat Loving Man

A stray cat mama brought her single kitten to a man who had been caring for the neighborhood cats and decided to settle in his backyard.

"I found them in my dog house just laying there. I tried to look for other (kittens) if any but didn't have luck," Max said.

He believes it's likely that the cat mama only gave birth to one kitten. "I'm very close with my neighborhood cats. They like to sleep with my dog in her dog house."

Max calls the neighborhood strays his cats as he takes care of them as much as he can. He has spayed and neutered several cats that he could catch out of his own pocket and is now helping the cat mama and her baby, keeping them safe, fed, healthy, and comfortable.

"The little kitty sure loves to explore around the house," Max told Love Meow.

He is keeping the mama and the kitten together and will have both spayed when they are ready.

Kitty is growing up so fast :).

Man Who Went Viral Swimming With Arthritic Dog Has Adopted A New Pup

Perhaps you remember Schoep the arthritic dog and his owner Joe Unger. Images of Joe holding Schoep, floating in Lake Superior to ease the pain in the poor dog’s joints, went viral on the internet about 3 years ago.

It’s no wonder the pair became a sensation. Their story was so incredibly touching, the images of them so heartwarming, that they resonated with humans the world over. When Schoep passed, every one who knew of Joe and his pup mourned the dog’s passing.

“He was my life,” Joe said. He has a collection of mementos and gifts sent by people from around the globe. Recently, Joe has found another way to commemorate the memory of Schoep. With a new dog.

“It was re-learning how to live and once I learned that and once I got through the toughness of his love that’s when I started searching again,” Joe said.

Bear, who is one year old, was surrendered to a nearby shelter with several other dogs. When Joe learned of the need to find the pups homes and met the adoptable dogs, he was instantly drawn to Bear.

“It was just unison. It was just you know, in love from the moment they said hello to each other,” said a worker from the shelter who eventually recognized Joe from the internet.

Though Joe and Bear haven’t known each other long, the chemistry between them has already begun to form. They’re learning how to take walks together and play, and Joe is very glad to have such a good dog back in his life.

We wish them all the best, and so can you. Just visit Joe’s Facebook page. Below you’ll find more wonderful imagery of Joe and his new pup Bear.
