Being a foster pupper is difficult, especially when you are so tiny that your rescuers name you Napoleon – and then you start to get a complex about things.
The world is really big and scary and the only thing that will solve
your problems is to curl up in your foster mama’s lap. But ugh,
sometimes foster moms won’t let you do this when they are driving
because of this weird thing called safety! Can you believe it?
Napoleon can’t believe it and he has some serious words for his human.
The Southern Indiana Animal Rescue
shared this pupdorable video on July 7. 4.6 million people have let out
an audible “awwwwwwwww” over this bossy cutie. Lots of people have also
sent in inquiries about adopting Napoleon, but the little guy isn’t
ready for his furever home just yet.
You see, Napoleon, whose breed is a complete mystery at the moment,
has a serious medical condition called megaesophagus – which means that
his esophagus is so enlarged that he cannot swallow like a normal dog.
He is currently on 2 different motility medications. This
may be temporary or it may not. Only time will tell. His food must be
watered down into a gruel-like mush and he must eat with his bowl
elevated.
If he gets ahold of any food that is not the proper consistency, it
could be deadly for him. His foster human keeps a close watch on him.
Yesterday, Napoleon had his third checkup
with his doctor. His situation is not improving, but it’s not declining
either, so that’s good news. He’s also gained three pounds in the past
three weeks, which is a really pawsitive sign!
His rescuers estimate that he will eventually weight 20-25 pounds.
They also suspect that he has dwarfism. Napoleon’s doctors won’t be able
to confirm this until he gets older.
For now, everyone’s focus is on managing his health – and controlling
his rather strong personality. In fact, rescuers aren’t telling him
about his recent internet fame:
"Napoleon has noooooo idea how famous he is becoming after
his video receiving 157K views and counting!!! For one, he can’t read,
and two, we haven’t told him. His head is already big enough."

A man got lost while he was hiking in the mountains in Gimmelwald, Switzerland. A cat came up to him and showed him the way. Meet the mountain guide kitty! "Gimmelwald is a tiny, tiny stunningly beautiful village. I actually got 'lost' in the surrounding mountains. It was the end of ski season when I got to Lauterbrunnen, so the lifts weren't working and some of the trails were closed," reddit user sc4s2cg said. He followed a roundabout trail up the mountain, and then followed those ski lifts further. Eventually he made it to the top and decided to follow a train track into the middle of a "totally empty town". "I was checking my map to see how I can get back to the hostel, and the only official way down was through a trail that was closed. And that's how I met that handsome cat." The kitty noticed him when he was taking a break from the hike, eating a snack and resting his sprained ankle. "As soon as I got...
