Tiny Kitten Orphaned at 1 Day Old Wouldn't Let Go of His New Mom

This little orphaned kitten was the only survivor of his litter and never knew how it was like to have a mom until now. He wouldn't let go of his new mama.

Meet Eli the kitten.

Little Eli was just one day old when they found him with his deceased siblings. He was bottle fed from that day on. The tiny tabby kitten yearned for the love from a cat mama.

Madeline the cat and her kittens were taken into their foster home in Seattle Washington for a second chance at life.

Cindy of foster_kittens became their caregiver and hoped Madeline would accept the little motherless kitten. When the sweet mama cat met Eli, she took to him and claimed him as her own.
When Eli came to Cindy, he was a wee kitten who just wanted to be loved.

Eli adores his new mom but doesn't know how to nurse. "Kittens who are bottle-fed get used to a different type of drinking. He hasn't stopped purring since he got here."

Mama Madeline gives him a bath to welcome him into her family.

After a bottle of milk, he snuggled up with mama and the other kittens for a nap. "He seems to love having a family," Cindy said.

"I keep thinking of how Madeline's first litter of kittens didn't survive (before she came to me) .... and how Eli was the only survivor of his litter. What a sweet mom Madeline has been to Eli."

"Kittens who have been bottle fed are typically smaller than kittens who nursed from a mom, but they soon catch up once they eat solid food," Cindy said.

Eli quickly became very attached to his mama Madeline.

"A great benefit of bottle babies is they love people: they are snuggly and purry and totally absorbed in their human," Cindy said. "There's nothing quite like having a tiny, well-fed, purry kitten crawl up under your neck and fall fast asleep."

After getting bottle fed by Cindy, Eli joins the cuddle puddle with his mama and siblings. He can't get enough of the love.

The little tabby boy has really bonded with his cat momma.

"Madeline and I have a good routine with little Eli: I bottle feed him, then she cleans him up and potties him," Cindy said.

Her kittens adore their adopted brother too. It's a snuggly lovey purr pile.

Stray 'Kitten' Rescued From Highway Isn't What She Seems

A car slammed on the brakes in the middle of a highway. A kitten was crouched on the road — and if she didn't move, she was going to get hit.

The driver parked on the shoulder and ran into traffic to scoop the kitten up. At first glance, the animal looked like a normal house cat. Then the driver studied the kitten's wide hazel eyes and a short stumpy tail, and realized this was no ordinary kitten.

Later that evening, Jamie Veronica at Big Cat Rescue got a phone call to pick up a bobcat kitten at a veterinary hospital. When Veronica and her colleague arrived, the kitten was still taped up in a cardboard box the driver had placed the animal in … and she was not happy about it.

"We had to un-tape that box and put on some really thick work gloves so that we could transfer her to our crate," Veronica tells The Dodo. "She was very feisty right off from the start. She didn't want to be picked up, so she was hissing and growling and nipping at the gloves."

According to Veronica, the kitten's feistiness was a good sign: "We don't want them to be nice or friendly towards people. So she was being exactly what she should be — a wild bobcat."

The only thing that appeared wrong with the kitten was that she was a little underweight, possibly due to tapeworms or another parasite. Then, of course, there was the fact that the kitten had gotten separated from her mother.

"The whole way to the location where we picked up the kitten, the road is under construction,"

Veronica explains. "A lot of times, when they're doing a lot of development in the area, it displaces the animals that live in that forest. They start to move to try to find new territories to live in, and start crossing roads that they normally wouldn't, and during that time they can get easily separated from their parents if there are cars going by. But we don't know for sure. It could have been possible — maybe the mom and the other kittens were sitting in the woods."

The bobcat kitten, whom they named Spirit Feather, will spend about three months at Big Cat Rescue before she can be released. "Right now, we estimate her to be about 2 and a half months old," says Veronica. "She needs to be about 6 months before she can go back. But it all depends on growth rate — she needs to be a certain size so she can take down appropriate prey to survive."

While Spirit Feather waits to grow up, she has plenty to do. She spends a lot of time sleeping, sometimes snuggled up with her stuffed animal squirrel. But when she's awake, Spirit Feather loves tearing up cardboard boxes.

"We gave her a little cardboard box in her cage last night, so that she could get into it and feel like she had a little den," says Veronica. "When I came in this morning to take care of her, the whole box was shredded, and bitten and pulled apart to shreds, so she must have had a really good time last night!"

Spirit Feather also likes giving the Big Cat Rescue team attitude. "She's adorable until you have to try to move her to a different cage," says Veronica with a laugh. "Last night we had the veterinarian come out, so we had to pull out of the cage so we could do an exam, and do the blood test for her, and she was not happy about that. But she is really stinking cute."

Big Cat Rescue does more than rescue and rehabilitate big cats — they also try to educate the public about the animals they care for.

"Bobcats are often misunderstood," says Veronica. "We get a lot of calls from people who see a wild bobcat in the woods behind their house, and they're afraid of it. But they're really great neighbors to have. Bobcats don't want to come around people, they don't like to bother people's pets. But they do eat snakes and they eat rats — things that you don't want near your house."

Introducing Momma And Her Kittens

A cat mama and her five little kittens who were abandoned at the vet's doorstep have welcomed a new furry member, a tiny orphan kitten, into their family.

[Scroll down for video]

"I work for Green Street Rescue, a non profit organization in Philadelphia, PA. We received a call from a vet that when they were opening, they found a box with these guys in it. It was 35 degrees out and they were just hours old," Jonny of Green Street Rescue wrote via reddit.

Protective mama cat and her kitten at one month!
At the same time, a white kitten who was much smaller than her age, was at the foster's without a mother. The rescue group decided to introduce the kitten to the mama cat, hoping she would accept her. And she did with open arms!

"Our organization is just five people, but we've rescued 200 cats this year alone," he added.
This white kitty (on the left) came as an orphan. She's two weeks older than the others, but much smaller than her age.

"Everything will be all right. I will take care of you, little one!"

Learning to eat solid food! A bit messy but making progress!

Awww! Little cross-eyed kitty showing us his jelly beans!

What a happy furry family! The little orphan (on top of Mom) is fitting in just fine :).

Cat Wanders Around Looking for a Home, So They Open the Door for Him

A stray cat had been wandering around a neighborhood, hoping someone would let him in. When he walked up to a couple, they knew they had to help.

"We opened the door for him," Alexander Fredriksen from Norway said.

"He was lost and almost starved to death when he found our neighborhood," Fredriksen said. The cat desperately wanted someone to socialize with.

"We put up an online entry for lost/found cats. We looked for flyers but didn't find anything." No one came forward.

While the couple and their neighbor worked together to feed and care for cat, they slowly introduced him to their own cat, Nala.

"We decided to take him to the vet to have a check-up on his health and also look for a chip to see if someone owned him," Fredriksen said.

The cat didn't have a chip and wasn't fixed. He went home with them that day and finally had a roof over his head.

"We don't know how long he has been for himself," Fredriksen said. "We had to wash him and get rid of some ticks, but he was a happy kitty afterwards."

Their fluffy cat Nala has surprisingly taken to her feline friend.

"Nala (Snow cat) is our precious Queen. She has never been too fond when other cats walk into her turf, but we were suprised to how calm she was with him," Fredriksen said.

He is around 1 to 1 and a half years old. "(He) can be a bit too curious and playful for her taste, but she puts him in place when she needs to. It looks like she might accept him as a little brother."

"He looks just like the male version of Nala," Fredriksen said.

"He acts like a kitten, and Nala did too when she was a year old," Fredriksen told Love Meow.
After he moved into his new home.

"He has the same paws and same white pattern as Nala, and since he found our home I guess it was meant to be.

"Meet our new family member, Simba!"

Somersaulting Cat

When cats go cray cray, they often do things that are beyond our comprehension. A kitty from the Netherlands does somersaults every time he has a Simon's cat moment.

Meet the Somersault cat!

According to the kitty's human, Jeroen Okkerse, when his cat gets in his crazy mode, he does somersaults.

Cats in the wild can go on 40 hunting trips per day while house cats live more of a sedentary lifestyle that they need other ways to help them burn off the excess energy.
This kitty has found his through somersaults.

Man Discovers His Cat's Unique Talent

A tuxedo cat named Keys has quite a talent which entertains not just her family but everyone that comes across it.

Meet Keys aka the Goalkitty.

Photo: @goalkitty
Her human, Peter Mares from California, discovered her unique talent by accident.

Peter noticed one morning that she tossed her paws up in the air as some sort of a stretch. He quickly grabbed the camera and captured the moment. The next day, she did it again, so Peter immediately rewarded her with her favorite treat.

"She has come to recognize the camera, and does these 'goal hands' whenever she sees it," Peter told Buzzfeed.

Photo: @goalkitty
Every time she receives a treat, he says "I know what you want."

Now those words have become the magic phrase that gets Keys excited. Whenever she hears them, she throws her paws up and gets ready for action. "Every time I pop out my camera and say the magic (phrase), she poses," he told HuffingtonPost.

Photo: @goalkitty
After Keys' pictures got out on the interweb, many creative minds began to photoshop her unique poses in various funny/silly scenes.

Photo: @goalkitty
She's been a goalie trying to block out an incoming ball or riding on a rollercoaster with her paws thrown up in excitement. The creativity is endless.

Photo: @goalkitty
Now this talented kitty brightens up her human followers on Instagram every day with her happy paws.

She has beautiful markings too. What's not to love!

Woman Takes a Chance on a Lost Kitten, What a Difference a Day Makes.

A dirty stray kitten was wandering around an apartment complex all by himself until a young woman saved him. What a transformation in just one day!

Photo: violetohara/tumblr

A kind woman spotted a tiny homeless kitten hanging out at the bottom of their stairs. She had seen feral cats around the area but this little thing was covered in burrs and dirt.

"We gave him some chicken but (he) couldn't catch it," violetohara said via tumblr. She knew the kitten was in poor shape. With help from her downstairs neighbor, they managed to catch the kitten, and gave him a comfy towel to snuggle with while she tried to comb and pick the burrs and sticks out of his fur.

Photo: violetohara/tumblr

The kitten was scared but as soon as she started helping him ease the discomfort from the burrs, he calmed down immediately, snuggling in her arms and feeling comforted.

Photo: violetohara/tumblr

"(We) got the fleas and dirt washed off him, got some antibiotics for a slight cold, but he was otherwise fine, kneading and purring up a storm, eating a lot and being heart-crushingly adorable."

Kitty's first vet visit.

They cleaned up the kitten and got him vetted. In just one day, he totally transformed. "What a difference a day makes!"

She named the little rescue fur baby Nux and gave him all the love in the world.

Photo: violetohara/tumblr

Nux settled in her lap and looked up into her eyes as if he was saying, "Thank you for saving me."

Nux was given a second chance when he was lost. Now all grown up, he loves nothing more than cuddling with his rescuer, now forever human.

Man Visits Cats Wherever He Travels and Rescues Those Who Need a Home (10+ photos)

This man has a soft spot for cats, especially homeless kitties. As a traveler, he always stops in the street to pet a kitty if he sees one or visits a local shelter when he is traveling.

Cats are his best friends!

"I love cats. And I have 14 (yes, that is right, 14 :)) living with me," Angelo Varriano told Love Meow. "All of them were stray, which I rescued from the streets. I always try to find new homes for them, but it's kind of difficult here in Brazil to find real good 'parents' for them."

Varriano is caring for all the cats he saved. And whenever he travels, he looks for cats in the area. It's always the highlight of his trip. "I love traveling and cats, so I always look for them in my trips," he said to Love Meow.
