Vet Shocked When He Sees Once-In-A-Lifetime Discovery; A Male Calico Cat… One In A Million!

Calico cats are domestic cats that have three large patches of color on their fur. Calico is more in reference to the color pattern on the coat, and not the breed. Female cats have one X chromosome, while male cats have an X and a Y. To get a calico, it will need two X chromosomes. The X chromosome determines the coat color.

Occasionally, there may be the odd male calico cat. They usually have health issues, and are sterile. For one vet, in his entire 54 years of practicing veterinary medicine, he’s only ever seen one other, but then he saw this!

One day this vet met someone VERY unexpected, a calico Scottish Fold boy!

This cute little fella is a calico male. Dr. Smith at Central Texas Cat Hospital says that he’s very unique and quite rare!

SOO cute and precious, just look at that little face!

This cute little guy is a Scottish Fold. He has the characteristic turned down ears of this breed. Not only is he a rarity, he’s one in a million, you’ll never see one just like him again!

So young, and already as special as can be! :)

So, how do you get a male calico, if two X chromosomes are needed? Basically, male cats have two X chromosomes, and one Y chromosome. This is called Klinefelter Syndrome and a cat like this only happens once in a lifetime. Wow!!

SHARE this adorable rare kitty with your friends and family! :)

Kitten Was Drinking Some Water In The Funniest Way Ever, So They Started Recording… LOL!!

This little fella is trying to drink water from a bowl for the first time and isn’t quite sure how to proceed! As a newbie to this method of lapping up water, Ben the kitten finds his own hilarious way to sip and slurp.

His puzzled face will melt your heart – Ben is adorably confused in what he’s supposed to do! But we don’t care; if all cats did this, we would just sit around watching them drink water in the cutest way possible…

Just watch:

Check Out This Abandoned Kitten That Was Adopted By A Family Of Ferrets

Imagine if you were a tiny kitten and were abandoned by your family. Wouldn’t you feel so scared? Komari was a five week old kitten that was found abandoned and completely alone. She looked sick and hungry — it was obvious she needed a new home. Her rescuers quickly gave her the help she needed, and she slowly, but surely started recovering. That wasn’t all that happened, however.
When Komari was getting nursed back to health, she wasn’t alone. Komari was surprised to find that six ferrets were in her crib, ready to comfort her. It took only a short introduction for Komari and her new ferret “brothers” to be bonded. You’re just going to love how they cuddle and play with each other!
It can be weird to imagine how ferrets and a kitten could get along so well together, but you would be surprised to know how friendly animals of different species can be to each other. Now excuse me as I fawn over how adorable these Komari and the ferrets are!

Meet Gary The Cat, The Most Confused Cat To Ever Be Brought Into This World

Gary, an eight-week-old cat with some hilariously well placed eyebrow markings, is becoming progressively more and more infamous on the internet as the “Confused Kitten.” Why? Well, you'll see.

"Wait, where do I poop again?"

As you can see, Gary's markings make his look constantly perplexed.

"No...it can't be morning already, can it???"

The kitten, owned by a couple in Manchester, was named after Take That star Gary Barlow, who is famous for raising his eyebrows while singing.

"WHAT WAS THAT NOISE??"

"Or wait, was that you just opening cereal?"

Because of his markings, Gary always has a mystified face. But if you cover his "eyebrows" with your finger, it changes everything.

"This stuff...it feels eerily familiar."

He'd still plenty cute without them, but then he wouldn't provide us with so much entertainment.

"Wait...did you just fart, or was that me?"

"I wanted to investigate these...but I can't really remember why now."

"When he was born there were just these two little black blotches on his forehead…We love Grumpy Cat so we thought we’d give him a run for his money,” owner Andy told the Dailymail.

"Why do I keep coughing up pieces of my body?? I'm scared."

We're here for you Gary. But mainly just to laugh at your hilarious, unchanging expression that you can't do anything about.

Young Woman Took an Injured Crow to Shelter, Ended Up Getting a Kitten

A young woman rescued an injured crow and took it to the shelter, but ended up getting a kitten.
Meet Murphy the cat!

"My boyfriend, Cale Babe, and I were walking around the neighborhood with our dog, Harley. We came across an injured baby crow on the street, with it's parents squawking above on a power line. As we approached, it hobbled away on one leg under a nearby car. I took off my flannel and Cale managed to wrangle it," Jody Steel, an artist based in Los Angeles, told Love Meow.

They contacted a number of rescues, but most of them were closed at that time.

"The next day, we found out that the West Los Angeles shelter would take him in for assessment and so we headed straight there."

At the shelter

"After we handed over the crow, we decided to walk around the shelter and see some of the animals. Our dog Harley, who is a pitt lab mix, is the sweetest dog. She grew up with cats and bunnies and other small animals.

"The last stop we made was at the cat holding section. Once inside, the first kitten I noticed was Murphy, who was fast asleep."

They decided to meet little Murphy.

"Once they roused Murphy and put him in my arms, it was all over. I was in love. His little face, furry ears, big eyes, and loud purring did me in," Jody told Love Meow.

On his way to his forever home!

"He was a single rescue from a feral litter in Century City. They didn't manage to get ahold of the others, but Murphy made it. It's only fitting that we took an injured crow off the street, to then get a kitten that came from a similar story," Jody said.

Despite being found as a feral kitten, Murphy is nothing but love.

It didn't take long for the little fur buddy to cuddle up to his humans in their arms, purr up a storm in their lap or even climb onto their shoulder for a cat nap.

"Murphy is adjusting very well! He's always meowing to be picked up and held. He also loves the shower, which is strange. We love his quirks!" Jody told Love Meow.

As an artist, Jody found the way she knew best to show Murphy her adoration... with her art. "He looks a lot like the soot from Spirited Away/Totoro."

10-day-old Tripawd Kitten Lives Up to His Name

This cat has truly lived up to his name. At 10 days old, he fought his way to survival despite losing a limp. Now he is thriving with his three paws.

Meet Trooper!

"The kitten was found by a good Samaritan under a porch, along with four siblings," Foothills Animal Shelter told Love Meow.

The two surviving kittens from the litter were taken to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, who then contacted Foothills Animal Shelter. When the kittens arrived at the shelter, staff quickly noticed that in order to save little Trooper, they had to remove his injured leg.

"We knew without the surgery he wouldn't survive, so we decided to take the chance," said Dr. Emily Hays, Chief Veterinarian at Foothills Animal Shelter.

At 10 days old, Trooper underwent the surgery like a champ!

His amazing will to live resonates with his name. He and his sister were placed in a foster home to recover. "The kittens were so young that their eyes were barely open and they were still learning to walk," the shelter said.

Despite everything Trooper has gone through, after more than two months of specialized and life-saving care, Trooper has fully recovered from his leg amputation.

Trooper cuddling with his caregiver. Look at that content face :).

"He is a rambunctious, healthy kitten that loves to play with toys. His missing limb doesn't slow him down at all," the shelter told Love Meow.

"Within one day of being available for adoption, Trooper found a home. Cindy and Dave H. spotted Trooper on Foothills Animal Shelter's website and fell in love."

The happy tripawd now spends his days playing with another cat, named Phoenix.

"His big brother Phoenix took to him almost immediately. We feel so fortunate that he's a part of our family and settling in nicely," says Cindy.

Trooper the cat knows no limits!

When They Bring Home A New Dog, His Reaction Is Priceless

One of the reasons we love dogs so much is their uninhibited honesty. If you’re not sure what your pup is thinking, just look at his face–or into those big, soulful eyes–and you’ll know exactly how he feels about any given situation!

Imgur user  posted some pictures of this hilariously expressive Husky who looks less than thrilled to be sharing the attention with this fluffy new family member.

“He loves his new sister,” reads the caption (we assume there’s a bit of sarcasm there!).

Commenter HailToUltron humorously noted, “That’s the look of an only child being usurped by the new kid.”

Just take a look at this unimpressed pup, trying to ignore his adorable new sister:

Posing for pictures? Not going to happen.

He is completely unaffected by her cuteness…

…and the pup’s attempts at being affectionate.

Looks like this new “sibling thing” may take some adjusting.

2

Isn’t this typical “oldest child” behavior when the new baby arrives? We’re sure that it wasn’t long before they became best friends!

Big Kitty Adopts Small Kitty and Raises Him Like Family

This is a story of an unbreakable bond.
When a tiny motherless kitten came to his new home, he was welcomed by a ginger cat with open paws. The bigger kitty adopted the little ball of fur and started licking him and loving him like family. It was love at first sight.

The day they met each other!

Ginger cat assured the little fur buddy that everything would be ok.

He watched over him when he played...

...and groomed him after every meal.

When the kitty became a teenager, his daily grooming continued.

They nap together...

...eat together...

...and watch bird TV together!

All grown up now with his best friend!

Border Collie Found Orphaned Kitten and Won’t Leave Her Side

A Border Collie pup found a kitten den during a walk with her human mom. She has been guarding and protecting the little surviving calico since.

Meet Otter Pop the kitten and Bunny the pup.

Photo: HeatherKitty

Heather (of HeatherKitty) was out walking her pup Bunny when her dog started sniffing aggressively. That's when she noticed a litter of kittens.

The cat mother was nowhere to be found. She believes that the Mom had abandoned the litter.
"Only one kitten was still alive," she said. The calico baby was the only one that made it. Heather picked her up and rushed home to get her help.

Photo: HeatherKitty

As an animal lover who has three cats of her own, Heather knew exactly what the kitten needed to survive - food and warmth. After filling up her belly, she carefully wrapped up the kitten in a soft towel.

Little Otter Pop fell asleep in her warms.

Photo: HeatherKitty

Soon the bond between the kitten and the pup started to form.

That day Bunny the pup stood guard by the kitten all afternoon.

Photo: HeatherKitty

The tiny calico, whose eyes were still closed, crawled up to Bunny as she tried to look for her mama.
"Otter pop started rooting around on Bunny like she was mom."

Photo: HeatherKitty

"Bunny was apprehensive at first... but she's now settling into her role as mama cat quite nicely," Heather said.

"I think this means the kitten has now adopted the dog."

Photo: HeatherKitty

Bunny cleans her, snuggles with her, and spends a lot of time by her side, watching over her.
The tiny calico nursing away while her 'mama' watching contently.

They were going to bottle feed the kitten until she was old enough to find a home...

But the kitten has already chosen her home, and her new mama, Bunny the pup, is guarding and protecting her for life.
